Homeschooling:

P1: For one, the reading’s claim about the quantity of learning of homeschooling children is less
that the one’s from children who go to traditional schools, is refused by the lecturer because he
mentions that it is not proved at all. In fact, students who learn at home, learn far more than
traditional students.

P2: According to the passage, children that learn from home have learn social interaction.
Nevertheless, the speaker opposes this idea due to quantity of opportunities that this kind of
students have with other children. Moreover, the lecturer explains that they can have situations of
social interaction with other homeschooling children at any time of the day if their parents arrange
it.

P3: In addition, in the passage it is claimed that the variety of subjects of students who learn from
home is less because of the wide ranking curriculum they have. However, the speaker casts doubt
on that affirmation because of the variety in the curriculum that the parents of the children can
make. For example, homeschooled children can have any classes that their parents can imagine
such as astronomy, Chinese language or even medicine!

Physical Education:

physical education as a mandatory course because they must take their own decision about their
body. She explains that their health may suffer if they choose not to do any physical activity.

other “more” important courses such as Maths, Science or literature. She mentions that physical
education class is also a necessary class due to benefits it could bring in long term. In fact, exercise
reduces obesity and helps children to be productive which will help them as well in their careers.

injuries are rare. On the contrary, this class help students to build muscle, have more flexibility and
strength which decrease injuries in the long term.

obsolete because of the need-to-know basis and the existence of multiple online sources. He
explains that the quality of news in traditional newspapers such as New York Times or Wall street
Journal is superior because of the trained professionals that write the news in these newspapers.

P2: Furthermore, the idea about the immediacy of accessing information and that traditional
newspapers re outdated by the time they’re published is also rejected by the speaker. According
to the men the sites where this information is published are not trusted source of facts

TOPIC STATEMENT

1: The lecturer states that homeschool students learn more than traditional students. The
lecturer’s opinion is quite different from the opinion expressed in the reading passage, which is
against homeschool education because students don’t learn as much as traditional students and
they have less social interaction and variety of subjects as well.

2: According to the lecture, physical education should be a mandatory course. The information in
the lecture opposes to the reading passage which mentions that students should not be forced to
take this class, it can distract from other courses and students may be exposed to injuries.

3: The lecture discusses about the reasons why traditional newspapers are not obsolete. The
information in the lecture casts doubt on what is stated in the reading passage about the replace
of traditional newspapers because of the need to know basis and the ways from revenue of it.
