AUTHENTIC MATERIALS NON-AUTHENTIC MATERIALS

CONCEPT
The authentic materials are those that expose real live[ CITATION
Wid17 \l 9226 ]. The authentic materials are actual material that
exist in the real world of the target language used in your daily
life and not produced for educational purposes. (pag.3).
The materials can be of type:
LISTENING MATERIALS: songs or radio shows
VISUAL MATERIALS: movies or TV shows
PRINTED MATERIALS: magazine, poster and map.
ADVANTAGES
GENUINE MATERIAL: Allow students to experience
the real language and have a closer interaction by
reducing the gap between the language taught in the
classroom and the language used the language used in
everyday life.
CONCEPT
Non authentic materials are teaching materials that are produced
and designed for instructional purposes only.
These materials are plantes, designed and produced based on the
curriculum and policy of each country, they are usually
presented in the form of text books based on the needs and
abilities of students.[ CITATION Wid17 \l 9226 ]
ADVANTAGES
 Non authentic materials are considered more appropriate
for the students.
 The text books are designed by the teacher based on the

 It is easier for to learner to master the lesson.
 Real life materials work better as they motivate students’
to learn English.
Real life materials increase and improve student’s
communicative competence as it makes them lose fear.
Authentic materials are ingenious materials as they allow
to generate curiosity to learn the culture of the target
language.
