STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

It was 1995 when I was born in a very small pretty village of Bangladesh. Countrysides were
surrounded with green plants and large agricultural fields of crops. I spent my childhood in my
village and then moved in Rajshahi. As I came from an agricultural family, I always familiar
with water management, energy usage, irrigation, fertilizer, crops and many agricultural ups and
downs. I am a witness of poverty, famine and different natural disasters due to environmental
disorder. From that time, I have been dreaming to do something for deprived people of our
society as most of the people here are illiterate and don’t aware of their surrounding
environment. As I was growing, I continued exploring my knowledge and creativity on various
scientific studies like Environmental Studies, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics etc.
Although technology develops day by day nevertheless different contaminants are entering into
our environment and pollute water, air, soil gradually. The water is one of the mentionable parts
of our environment that is being polluted thoroughly. At this moment, I feel lucky because I will
be able to study and do research on Sustainable Environment at Hammad Bin khalifa University
that will take me one step ahead to reach my goal. I also plan to run a private enterprise in the field of
water conserving landscaping adapted technology in my country after completing study. I will make it
known to the world that Bangladesh’s youth generation could also create its own water conserving
technology. I am also highly motivated installing energy efficient appliances, recycling process, installing
tap water instead of using bottled water that will ensure a sustainable environment.

I believe the education in graduation level is not only a continuation of college studies but also a
process in which the students can do independent research. A study of The United Nations Food
and Agriculture Organization estimates that about 815 million people of the 7.6 billion people in
the world, or one in tenth, were suffering from chronic undernourishment (almost all the hungry
people in all developing countries) in 2016 and the report badly allured me. Therefore, I dream to
get enrolled in an MSc program before doing my doctoral research to sharpen the focus of my
interests in the field I decided and to do so, I believe University of Hammad Bin Khalifa will be
open its lap for nurturing my knowledge and ambition also.

Alongside, I have successfully completed BSc Engg. in Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering from
the University of Rajshahi with CGPA 3.24 on the scale of 4.00 securing the top 10% position. In the last
year of my undergraduate study, I did a project work “ Quantitative Analysis of Heavy Metals in Soil”
under the supervision of Dr. Sha Md. Shahan Shahriar, Assistant Professor, Rajshahi university.
This project explores heavy metals removal from soil, garments effluent and other relevant sources that
contaminate soil and water. A few months ago , I joined a project titled “Water sampling techniques for
the assessment of inorganic and organic pollutant in the indoor and outdoor water” and successfully done
within six months. It was an amazing feeling for me to finish that job and scored a remarkable mark.
That's why I think, the major Sustainable Environment will help me to enhance my knowledge on
continuing my exploration for every environmental segments , and it will be a huge opportunity for me.
Because the knowledge of this project will help me to find out a solution.
