Cleanliness -Our Responsibility and Duty How does it feel when you visit
Switzerland or any other foreign countries. You got to see those clear
skies , clean roads ,footpaths and public toilets, clean benches. Got
some fresh air while jogging in the park. Everything looks perfect. What
if you get to see some garbage on road or footpath while walking, or
stinky toilets or some bad air while walking in the park or dumbed
garbage near to the lake or river where you often go with your friends.
Whole mood would be spoiled. Cleanliness is our responsibility as well
as our duty. Why do people throw the waste like wrappers , plastic or
peels anywhere they feel like? Why do people spit on public places or
walls. Just because it's written , " Fine of ?500 on throwing garbage " or
"Yaha thukna mana hai, jurmana ?500" . Maybe they take it as a
challenge. This behaviour and attitude is totally wrong. Though its
punishable but still we see garbage thrown, or overflowing, coloured
walls due to spitting. We often blame and complain the sweepers or
cleaners, municipal corporations or sanitation workers. Do complain if
they don't perform their job properly but I believe we are too
responsible for the uncleanliness in our surroundings. People keep their
house, garden or backyard clean but forget their ethics when it comes
to public places, roads or footpaths or rivers, lakes. The workload of
these corporations and cleaning workers will decay if each individual
take it as real and be responsible towards cleanliness. Switzerland is the
cleanest country in the world and people love to visit there. It has got
beautiful Alps , clear skies and rivers , electric vehicles and you won't
see a piece of wrapper on the road. People are so well disciplined. In
India, Indore and Bhopal ranks first in cleanest cities if India. With such
initiative taken by government, Swachata Abhiyan , many cities ,towns,
villages have been cleaned by workers and residents of localities. Some

of them just put a post on social media while cleaning which were
absolutely fake. Many videos are being viral in which a group pretends
to clean. " United we stand, divided we fall " If we not just play a
blame-game or getting clicked, pretend to clean rather than taking
initiative towards cleanliness. Spend some time in cleaning your own
rooms or houses and never litter your nearby streets. Spend some time
with friends to clean your surroundings on weekends. Keep a separate
dustbins for biodegradable and non biodegradable wastes. If you harm
your environment, it will hit you back with a greater extent. Due to such
cleanliness movements many public toilets have been provided in
villages and towns. In many villages there was no proper sanitation due
to which they had to suffer from diseases. The flies were the major
vectors. Ask yourself, why there's a need of clean surroundings ? The
answer is diseases and health issues. The flies feeding on the garbage
nearby would definitely knock your doors. Segregation of garbage is a
big task, because you can't dump the organic and inorganic waste
together. There has to be a separate dustbins. The blue for non
biodegradable waste like plastic , glass , metal objects. So these stuffs
can get recycled without wasting any time for segregation. The other
Green dustbin for biodegradable waste which includes kitchen wastes ,
fruits and vegetables peels. These wastes can be used as manure and
can be decomposed easily. The most harmful waste is plastic. We
humans made plastic but we can't decompose it easily. Hence they are
recycled but many places you get to see those plastic and kitchen waste
are being together and thrown. Thus segregation is necessary. Plastic
wastes can be recycled or can be used in making Plastic Tar Roads. So
the government and citizens are responsible for cleaning our India and
not its work of government , it is also the work of citizens.
