INTODUCTION

Mathematics has been a part of the human search for understanding.

Mathematical discoveries have come both from the attempt to describe the natural
world and from the desire to arrive at a form of inescapable truth from careful reasoning.
It is the science that deals with the logic of shape, quantity and arrangement. Math is all
around us, in everything we do. It is the building block for everything in our daily lives,
including mobile devices, architecture (ancient and modern), art, money, engineering,
and even sports. Mathematics is the study of topics such as quantity (numbers),
structure, space and change. There is a range of views among mathematicians and
philosophers as to the exact scope and definition of mathematics.

Grades are mark indicating the quality of student’s work or performance or a

particular level of rank, quality, proficiency, intensity, or value. Once in a while, it is used
as a basis to determine how hard working a student is. A measurement of student
academic success on an assignment, test, etc. typically provided by an
instructor/teacher or automated system.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

The study wants to identify the positions of the 2 nd quartile, 4th and 8th decile, and
the 25th percentile.

METHODOLOGY
 Making a formal letter for the mathematics teacher so that the researcher will get

the grades of Grade 7- Flores in their 1st quarter in math.

 Signing the formal letter by the mathematics teacher of the researcher. Gathering

the data in a mathematics teacher of grade 7- Flores

 Arranging the data into a Grouped Data. Formulate a table for Grouped data.

 Solving the grouped data to answer the questions prepared by using the

Scientific methods.

 Interpret the given results of the data. Explain the answers/outcomes of the

results.

 Data analysis, give the conclusion and recommendation.

RESEARCH QUESTION
The researcher conducted the study to answer the following questions;
 What is the position of 2nd quartile?
 What is the position of 6th decile?
 What is the position of 9th decile?
 What is the position of the 69th percentile?

DATA ANALYSIS
UNGROUPED DATA

The table shown above is the ungrouped data of the first quarter math grades of
Grade-7 Flores.
To solve the positions of the quartile, decile, and percentile, the researcher used
k k
the scientific method for ungrouped data. The formula for quartile is for decile is
4 10
k
and for percentile is .

Q2= D6= D9= P69= 31.74
4 10 10
Q2= 22.5 D6= 27 D9= 41.4
INTERPRETATION OF DATA
Based on the given data, the results shows the positions of quartile, decile, and
percentile. The position of 2 nd quartile is in the grade of 78. The position of 6 th decile is
also in the grade of 78 . The position of 9 th decile is in the grade of 82 and the position of
69th percentile is in the grade of 79.

CONCLUSION
In conducting the study, the researcher concluded the following;
 Therefore, the researcher concluded that the quartile 2 can be found in the 22.5 th
position.
 Therefore, the researcher concluded that the decile 6 can be found in the 27 th
position.
 Therefore, the researcher concluded that the decile 9 can be found in the 41.4 th
position.
 Therefore, the researcher concluded that the percentile 90 can be found in the
31.74th position.

RECOMMENDATION
The researcher recommends to all the students who wants to get a higher grade
or a passing grades in mathematics that they must study harder and do all their best.
And lastly to improve their cooperation and participation in any activities that is inclined
with their subject especially math.
