Nervous system
Following organs are part of the nervous system
I. Brain
II. Spinal cord
III. Nerves
The brain has three parts and they are the cerebellum, cerebrum and medulla. The cerebellum
controls our balance, position and speech. The cerebrum controls voluntary movement, speech,
intelligence, memory, emotions and sensory processing. The medulla controls your vital functions
such as heartbeat and breathing and it also helps us to learn new things.

The nerves gives information to our body and the information is given by the brain. The brain gives
information to our body through nerves and neurons. There are two types of neurons and they are
sensory neurons and motor neurons. The sensory neurons gives the information to the brain and the
motor neurons give information to the organ. ( eg. When you touch a hot surface, the sensory
neurons gives the information to the brain that you are touching a hot surface and then the rain tells
and gives the information that ‘ remove your hands it is hot’ and the motor neurons tell and give the
information to your hand.)
