TURNING ABANDONED SPACES INTO EXTERIOR

MUSEUM

1.1 INTRODUCTION: An Abandoned space is the space which is left unused or no

longer occupied. There are many causes for a space to be left unused. In India there are
many places which are being degraded for years, few are demolished, few are decayed
cause all there are not taken into preservation and conservation methods. All these are
being existed without any maintenance being decayed since past years.
Several historical places, buildings, forts etc, there are many places which are not being
under consideration in India.
These kinds of places should take into consideration and to be re-used in other possible
ways, even then these are to be conserved and preserved for the future.
Turning these kinds of places into a museum which also adds a historical context to the
areas, would be one of the possible methods to conserve these typologies of places.

1.2 NEED FOR STUDY:

In architectural perspective preserving a place is also a key principle to be implemented.
Basing on the present situations these are being into consideration only on few digit
numbers.
All these abandoned places are not only a place, they consists of many historical
background and importance, mostly in a mythological history based country like india.
So these are to be preserved for future and re-used so that it adds more contextual value to
the place, and could bring back its true nature of the contextual place.
1.3 AIM:
To design a abandoned space into exterior museum and bring back its origin state with all
the value added improvements with respect to the Place.

1.4 OBJECTIVES:
 To design a space into exterior museum with all the design considerations.
 To recreate the abandoned space and improve its conditions with respect to
contextual area.
 To design with conservative methods and principles.
1.5 SCOPE:
For every abandoned space there is a history, which has to be preserved and conveyed to
the upcoming generations. The way it has to be happen is to function with the site
contextual background and has to be re-developed in such a way. So that it increases the
value and come into existence and re-used.
Such kind of places are to be focused and re-used so that, it satisfies the needs and can be
served for other purposes too.
In future there will be lack of space, yes this might occur. Instead of getting into those
things, its better to utilize each and every space in a rightful way, as a result there will be
no consequences for the availability of space in future.
The project focus on those points, so that the spaces can be re-used with several purposes
which sort-out the degrading of spaces.

1.6 LIMITATION:
 To design an exterior museum in abandoned space with all the design strategies.
 To re-use the site with its contextual historical background.
 Focuses on how to improve the space function as well as its existence.
