Chapter 1 Introduction
1 Description of the Product
This package contains a GYRO TV® wall support for TV monitors DISTAR 38 cm (15”)
and 51 cm (20”). HIGH BRITE monitors 43 cm (17”) and 53 cm (21”) can be mounted
on the GYRO TV®.
HIGH BRITE monitors 43 cm (17”) and 53 cm (21”) cannot be mounted on GYRO

TV® wall support outside of control area. This is the main restricted condition to
use a GYRO TV® with HIGH BRITE monitors. Two people are required for this
installation on site.
This package is provided as an option with R & F and Vascular systems. It enhances the
X–Ray systems by adding a monitor mounted on wall and can be oriented as wished by
the operator.

2 Responsibility of Customer
“PRE–INSTALLATION” refers to work necessary to plan and prepare a site for installation
of GYRO TV® wall support, either included in a complete new system or being added to
an existing X–Ray room.
“INSTALLATION” refers to work necessary to mount the GYRO TV® wall support as requested
by the customer, in compliance with best practices required by the matter of the wall.

A GYRO TV® wall support is designed to support four well identified monitors only.

1 Product Identification
The GYRO TV® wall mount is supplied under reference number 2127289 for Distar Monitors
and 2305202 for High Brite Monitors comprising a wall plate and a mounting kit.

2 Structural Requirement
A normal way to mount the GYRO TV ® on wall needs to have a concrete wall or at least a
concrete block or a cast stone wall with a concrete compression strength based on 25
MPa (1725 psi) at 28 days.
In case of the wall is not a concrete matter, an alternative way to mount the GYRO TV®
can be defined locally by an Architect or a Civil Engineer. Illustration 2-1 and Illustration
2-2 provide information needed.
A suggestion could be done to the Architect: a hard wood timber can by supplied by the
Customer. The GYRO TV® will be mounted on the timber by 3 slipper screws. The wood
timber needs to be put on the floor and anchored to the wall. Dimensions will not be less
than 20 cm (8”) width and 5 cm (2”) thick.
Inside the mounting kit are supplied 3 x M610L RAWL BOLTS. These RAWL BOLTS have
been defined with a concrete compression strength based on 25 MPa (1725 psi) at 28 days.
Also, refer to Table 2-1 for appropriate RAWL BOLT following concrete compression strength.

Use the appropriate RAWL BOLT to meet the limits defined by any Control Board in
your area if it differs from the values above.

Chapter 3 Installation
1 Tools Required
You will need the following tools to install a GYRO TV®.
• Torque wrench 5–25 Nm (4–18 lb ft).

• Carbide–tipped drill bit for installing a GYRO TV® as nominal diameter:
• 12 mm diameter for M610L RAWL BOLT supplied or,
• 14 mm diameter for M810L RAWL BOLT (not supplied).
• Carbide–tipped drill 6 mm (1/4 inch) diameter for pilot holes.
• Hammer for tapping in wall anchors.
• Vacuum cleaner.

2 Check on Site
• Make sure that the GYRO TV® is correctly supplied with no part missing.
• Make sure that the wall is a concrete wall.
The maximum pull out per anchor was calculated assuming a regular weight
concrete having a minimum compression strength of 25 MPa (1725 psi) at the time
of installation and with the anchors installed to the required hole depth of:
- 60 mm (2.4 inches) for RAWL BOLT M610L,
- 70 mm (2.75 inches) for RAWL BOLT M810L.
The anchors are designed to be installed in a predrilled hole having the same
diameter as the nominal anchor diameter.
Following depth needed by the type of bolt, a minimum thickness of concrete will
be defined by adding at least 15 mm (0.6 inches) to the hole depth.
The minimum distance between the anchor hole center and any concrete edge
must be:
- 75 mm (3 inches) for RAW BOLT M610L,
- 85 mm (3.5 inches) for RAWL BOLT M810L.
Make sure to obtain data on compression strength of concrete before using

RAWL BOLT.
• For any other case, an Architect or a Civil Engineer must provide a method to mount
the GYRO TV® wall mount.
• Make sure that you have the tools required.

3.2 Procedure
1. Use the wall plate supplied inside the GYRO TV® box. Make sure the mounting kit is
supplied. Adjust to any particular location requested by an operator in conformity with
the layout if it has been done.
2. With a plumb line define a vertical line on wall at the GYRO TV® location.
3. Using the wall plate, mark the bolt locations with a punch and a hammer.
4. Drill the pilot holes (using 6 mm or 1/4” drill).
5. Drill the mounting hole with the appropriate carbide–tipped drill for M610L or M810L
RAWL BOLT.
6. Clean out the mounting holes.
7. Tap each anchor into its hole with a hammer.
8. Adjust wall plate, washer plate and bolt on each hole.
9. Torque down each of the anchor bolts to:

10. Make sure that the wall plate is correctly mounted on the wall.
3.3 Finalization

4.2 Procedure
1. Mount the lowest bridle on wall plate using screws provided (4-M5 x 15 mm).
2. Put the nylon washer above the bridle.
3. Fit the guide through the nylon washer in the lowest bridle.
4. Fit the mobile arm to the vertical guide. Refer to Chapter 2, Section 2, Structural
Requirement, illustration “Wall Structure Requirement - DISTAR Monitors”.
5. Insert the second nylon washer at the top of the vertical guide.
6. Insert the highest bridle on the vertical guide.
7. Block all fixation screws (8–M5 x 15 mm). Refer to Chapter 2, Section 2, Structural
Requirement, illustration “Wall Structure Requirement - DISTAR Monitors”.
8. Adjust the tray support on the mobile arm and mount it correctly.
9. Put the monitor tray on the tray support and mount it using nuts, screws and washers
provided (4 hex nuts, 4 plate washers and 4–M5 x 14 mm screws).
10. Mount the monitor on the monitor tray using:
• 3–M4 x 8 screws supplied for 38 cm (15”) DISTAR,

• 4–M4 x 8 screws supplied for 51 cm (20”) DISTAR.

5.2 Procedure
1. Mount the lowest bridle on wall plate using screws provided (4–M5 x 15 mm).
2. Put the nylon washer above the bridle.
3. Fit the guide through the nylon washer in the lowest bridle.
4. Fit the mobile arm to the vertical guide. Refer to Chapter 2, Section 2, Structural
Requirement, illustration “Wall Structure Requirement - HIGH BRITE Monitors”.
5. Insert the second nylon washer at the top of the vertical guide.
6. Insert the highest bridle on the vertical guide.
7. Block all fixation screws (8–M5 x 15 mm). Refer to Chapter 2, Section 2, Structural
Requirement, illustration “Wall Structure Requirement - HIGH BRITE Monitors”.

Unpack the HIGH BRITE monitor and put it on its side .

) by pressure on the four Catches ( , Illustration 3-1 ).
NOTE:

10. Unpack the Plate support, the bag of screws and mount the support of TILT & SWIVEL
BASE on the Plate support.

Take care on both front sides – Plate support and Cross support.
Take care on what orientation is the Cross support on the Plate support.
11. Adjust on Plate support (bottom side) the Cross support.

12. Adjust the equipped Plate support on mobile arm and mount it correctly. Use a part of
cardboard box as tool to support the Plate support on mobile arm.

13. Adjust the Plate support on mobile arm and block the plate on its Spherical joint.
Two workers are required for this operation.
14. With the help of an other worker, mount and adjust the monitor on its Plate support. Lock
it as expected by the customer.

6.2 Overview
HIGH BRITE Monitor Replacement on GYRO TV® Wall Mount Monitor Support.
6.3 Procedure
1. Unlock the Spherical joint and tilt the Plate support to its horizontal position.
2.
Remove the equipped Plate support with the monitor . Two people are required
for this operation. Put the Plate removed on the floor.

Remove the Cross support from the Plate support equipped .

Support of TILT & SWIVEL BASE coming from the old monitor remains on support plate (

Do not forget to return with the removed Monitor the Tilt & Swivel support supplied
with the new Monitor.

4. Extract the Monitor from the Plate support equipped by pressure on the four Catches (
