Memorandum for Usability Testing

To: Sharon Christian
From: Ayannah Peterson

I will be observing my volunteer in person. I welcomed my user by saying “I will

be conducting a Usability test for Asana”. My methods were to watch and
guide when the participants asked for assistance. In the future I will also
mention Asana is a business collaborative tool.  The instructions were not clear
enough for the participant, I will go back and edit them. The total time for the
first test was 2 minutes and 10 seconds. The second test was 1 minute 8
seconds. There were a few errors with my instruction, I did not give enough
information to the participant. The user was uncomfortable with the tool and
was unsure of how it was used. The user did not like their experience. The user
had challenges understanding the tool and the type of test being conducted for
it. I expected the user to go through the instruction sheet with ease because I
thought I gave enough background information, but we ran into trouble on the
site from the instructions. I will be giving more information initially on what a
Usability test is and the purpose. I will also mention Asana is a business
collaborative tool.  They were unclear to the participant so i will add scroll
down or to the left for future users. The usability test results were not as
expected but I will be improving the usability test to make it easier for the next
user.
