Enrichment Activity : Based on the sequence below, explain the workflow of the computer.

ALU and Control Unit must be included in your explanation.

Information and programs are entered into the computer through Input devices such as
the keyboard, disks, or through other computers via network connections or modems connected to the
Internet. The input device also retrieves information off disks. The CPU or central processing unit is
sometimes called the Control Unit and directs the operation of the input and output devices. The
Coprocessor or the Arithmetic-Logic Unit does arithmetic and comparisons. The memory or RAM
temporarily stores information (files and programs) while you are using or working on them. The BIOS or
basic input/output system controls the dialogue between the various devices. Output Devices displays
information on the screen (monitor) or the printer and sends information to other computers. They also
display messages about what errors may have occurred and brings up message or dialog box asking for
more information to be input. The output device also saves information on the disk for future use.
The control unit controls and monitors communications between the hardware attached to the computer. It
controls the input and output of data, checks that signals have been delivered successfully, and makes
sure that data goes to the correct place at the correct time. ALU and CU is that arithmetic logic unit is
another component of the processor which performs arithmetic, comparison, and other operations.
While control unit is the component of the processor that directs and coordinates most of the
operations in the computer.

Module 1

Activity : Define System Software and Application Software

The System software is installed on your computer when you install your operating

system. System software refers to the files and programs that make up your computer’s

operating system. System files include libraries of functions, system services, drivers for

printers and other hardware, system preferences, and other configuration files. The

programs that are part of the system software include assemblers, compilers, file

management tools. While Application Software is commonly defined as any program

or number of programs designed for end-users. People often use the term “application

software” to talk about bundles or groups of individual software applications, using a

different term, “application program,” to refer to individual applications. Examples of

application software include items like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or any of the

web browsers used navigate the Internet or the actual software suites themselves, if

they are intended for end users.

and compre your findings.

The Intel Celeron N3350 has been developed using a 14nm process,

allowing for the integration of the Intel HD Graphics 500 (Apollo Lake)

controller. It operates at a base frequency of 200 MHz and its maximum

dynamic frequency goes up to 650MHz. The power consumption of the

whole system on a chip is 6 watts, with a maximum operating temperature

of 105 °C. Intel Celeron N3350 supports PCI Express 2.0 and up to 8GB of

DDR3L-1600 memory.

5. If the CPU temperature ideal or overheating. Check your computer or smartphone and cite

the reason why. Check for:

A. Running Applications

Checking the temperature of all computer components is important because some

components can cause problems or overheat the computer. Running application can cause

more stress or your computer, if it uncared it may be end up where your computer would not

use well(lagging) or worse would not post anymore. Cooling computer help more it can

deliver better performances, and your computer makes faster.

B. Hardware Specification

Hardware Components did not overheat, they have features to prevents computer in

overheating. Computer comes up with cooling fans on it to avoid heating up it temperature.
