Student Council Elections 2020-21

Posts:

Head Boy/Girl: 1 (From 11) for entire school

Head Prefect Boy/Girl: 4 (2 from Class 10 & 2 from Class 5) for entire school

Prefect number: 1 prefect: 15 students as per each section for two groups following the SOP’S

Criteria for the posts:

60% aggregate in Academics

Regular attendance and punctuality

Good participation in co-curricular activities

No discipline violation in past two years

Carrying good demeanour

Timeline for Elections:

Elections Announced: Wednesday 11th November 2020

Nomination forms available: Monday 16th & Tuesday 17th November 2020

Nomination forms submission deadline: Wednesday 18th & Thursday 19th November 2020

Interviews: Monday 23rd November 2020

Signs allocated to Head Boy and Head Girl: Wednesday 18th & Thursday 19th November 2020

Election Campaign: Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th November 2020

Election for Head Boy and Head Girl: Wednesday, 25th & Thursday 26th November 2020

Result announcement: Friday, 27th November 2020

Rehearsals for Investiture Ceremony: Monday 30th November 2020

Investiture Ceremony: Tuesday 1st December 2020


Election Rules:

1. Student can stand for election by submitting a nomination form duly filled and signed by
parents and teachers
2. They will compete for election only in their respective class level and section
3. Elections will take place on Thursday on ballot paper and the student with highest votes
will be elected as Head Boy / Head Girl
4. Candidates of Head Boy/ Head Girl will have to campaign in their respective section only
and time designated by the school Head
5. Sticker Sheets are not allowed even for the uniform. Chart paper badges can be used
with a safety pin
6. Posters and banners can only be placed in the respective section and playground area
7. Candidates can address the combined assembly on Thursday 19th November 2020
8. No campaigning will take place on the election day Wednesday 25 th & Thursday 26th
November 2020
9. Use civil language for poster/ speeches and campaign slogans
10. Each candidate is responsible for proper behavior of his/ her supporters during election
campaign. Any fight/destruction of other candidate’s posters or use of derogatory
remarks may jeopardize the nomination of the candidate
11. Candidates and their supporters will be responsible for cleaning-up of walls, windows
and soft-boards after the elections
12. All school staff including the teachers should play a neutral role
13. Election campaign budget should not exceed Rs:5000/=
