Little but Enough

It was already dark on the street.

We go out with my friends for biking from 2:00 in the afternoon.
Mother reminded me not to go home late.
She said, "James you can do biking with your friends but be home
before six o'clock. " Yes Mommy," I answered.
Unfortunately, I forgot my promise. We room around the Village.
We have some fun together with my friends.
Japeth invited us to have some ice cream.
At first, I refuse, but they said, " Come on, James! We don't have class today".
" Let us enjoy our day".So I joined with them and eat some ice cream at Aling
Carmen's store.
It was 5:40 in the afternoon. I remember my promise to be at home before 6:00 'oclock.
Let' s go home now! I said.On our way home, an old man called me, He is so thin, grey haired old
man. " Apo, ( a Filipino calling for grandson)can I ask for a piece of bread and water.
When we heard it, Japeth and I both opened our wallet, to my surprise I have only 10 peso coin same
with Japeth. I am hesitant to give and I feel shy because I know that the old man needs some help.
I feel sad because I can't give enough food for him.
I said , "Lolo, we are so sorry"."We have only 20 pesos here".But I saw the hope and smile in his paled lips.
"A little help for you Lolo", I uttered.
He said , in a soft and trembling voice, " little but enough".A lot of people on this street passed by, they have
enough but they are hesitant to extend help for an old man like me."
"God bless you Apo". Thank you so much.I can buy some food for my dinner tonight.
