A. In the given case Artem makes a specific offer to all his employees and it can be
accepted by any of his employee. According to section 4 of Indian contract Act the
communication of proposal is complete when it comes under the knowledge of the
person to whom it’s made but in this condition Bryony is not aware about the offer
Artem made. In the good of Artem he returns his bicycle because Bryony is very well
known that this is Artem distinctive bicycle. That’s why Artem is not entitled to pay
the reward to Bryony.
B. Charles can claim for the reward, from the given facts it is clearly stated that the
Artem offer is under the knowledge of Charles as he started acting on it. To impress
his boss he specially took the leave of Tuesday and Wednesday to search for the
bicycle. According to section 4 of Indian contract Act 1872, the acceptance get
completed as against the proposer, when it is put in the course of transmission. While
on leave on Wednesday Charles is not aware of withdrawn of the offer, on Thursday
he go to work and tell Artem about the bicycle. Artem is entitled to pay the reward to
Charles.
C. Through the given fact Devi cannot claim the reward, here Artem revoked the
proposal that is under the knowledge of Devi through her colleague name Freddie on
Thursday that Artem revoked his offer. According to section 5 of Indian contract Act
a proposal must be revoked at any time before the communication of its acceptance is
completed as against the proposer, but not afterwards. When Devi return Artem
bicycle to him on Friday she is very well known about the revocation, so Artem is not
bound to pay reward to Devi.
D. Eytan can claim for the reward from Artem because it was Tuesday when Eyton take
the bicycle to work and give it to Artem, Artem change his mind on Wednesday, until
Tuesday there is no revocation of the offer is made in any form. In section 8 of Indian
contract Act it is mentioned performance of the condition of a proposal, or the
acceptance of ant consideration for a reciprocal promise which may be offered with a
proposal, is an acceptance of the proposal. Artem is entitled to pay reward to Eyton.
