each question.

1. The demand and supply equations are 2p2 + q2 =11 and p + 2q =7. Find the equilibrium
price and quantity, where p stands for price and q for quantity.

2. A cricket team of 11 players is to be formed from 16 players including 4 bowlers and 2

wicket-keepers. In how many different ways can a team be formed so that the team
contains –
I. Exactly 3 bowlers and 1 wicket keeper
II. At least 3 bowlers and at least 1 wicket keeper.

3. The cost of producing 200 pens is Tk. 1000 and the cost of producing 400 pens is Tk. 1500.
(I) Find the linear relation between the cost y of producing x pens.
(II) What numbers of pens must be produced and sold at Tk. 3 per pen, so that
there is neither profit nor loss?
(III) What should be the selling price of a pen if 600 pens are produced and sold
with a profit of Tk. 400?

4. For what value of x, the area of the triangular region is enclosed by the segments joining
the points (3, 4), (x, –1), and (4, –6) will be 15/2 square units?
