Q2. “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Explain this statement. (max 200 words)

In other words, when individual parts are connected together to form one entity, they are
worth more than if the parts were in silos
A good example of this would be university life.

We enter university with charm and attractiveness like a fresh ball of clay. Everything is new
and we feel like we are now big, we get into higher education.

Beginning with the first year, we move on to learn various subjects by different teachers who
impress upon us knowledge from their areas of expertise. We are molded this way and that
juggling learning, assignments, projects, worksheets and exams to the best of our abilities.

Apart from academics, co-curricular activities and sports beckon and spur us on to strive for
perfection and excellence, all the while teaching us some vital lessons in teamwork, success
and failure.

Somewhere in the midst of all this, we pick up essential social skills and long lasting
friendship.

When it is time to step out of the annals of school, we walk out, molded into unique
personalities, excelling in some fields while performing fairly in others.

Finally, we emerge as a whole that is so much more than the sum of its parts.
