Reflection About Amino Acid by Professor David

He is talking about Amino Acids in which he said that our body is full of molecules called
biomolecules. We have to know that in biochemistry we have to learn different kinds of
biomolecule. And they have different classics and these are proteins, carbohydrates
lipids and nuclear acids.
Polymers are comprised of repeating units called monomers. Mono means one, poly
means many and polymer is formed when many monomers link together. Each polymer
has its own type of monomer and we need to know about the different kinds of
monomeric units and as they combined, they formed large molecules that are complex
that do things in the body. Mono means one polymer is formed when mono linked
together. Amino acids have an amino group and a carboxyl group at the other end.
The carbon between this functional groups which we called the alpha carbon bear a
side change referred to as R-Group. This is the group in which amino are looking. If
the R-Group is a hydrogen atom it is called Amino Acid Glyzine. If it is a methyl group it
is called Alanine. There are twenty (2) of them in different categories. Some of them
are hydrophobics like leozile. There are aromatics like phenylamine. Some are basics
like lysine. Some are aspartic acids act as nucleophiles. Every Amino Acids has its
own unique structure and reactivity and its variation in this R-GROUP determines
characteristic of the molecule that forms the Amino Acid. Some of these acids human
can make their own. You have to eat them and diet and they are called essential Amino
Acid and others that can make their own are called non-essential Amino Acid.
The Amino Acid group can be protonated since it is slight basic and the carboxyl group
can be deprotonated since it is slightly acid. These are in cationic form, zwitterionic
form and anionic form. They depend in the Ph of its environment. The side form has
different stages. With the help of other molecules in the body there can polymerize to
form protein. And it is very important to know about Amino Acids.
