Job description: Warehouse employees (manager and blue collar workers) are responsible for overall
fulfillment centre (cold storage) inventory control and quality assurance
Responsibilities:
● Measurement of quality and inventory transaction integrity accuracy while providing feedback to the
operations
● Develop and execute daily, weekly and monthly action and forecasting plans that increase quality and
inventory accuracy
● Plan and execute the cycle counts as described in each area of facility
● Establish and maintain inventory handling procedures within the warehouse
● Review and analysis of customer defect data with development of appropriate action plan to reduce the
defects
● Plan for and identify the root cause of inventory deviation through cause-and-effect analysis
2. Warehouse Manager
● Measurement of quality and inventory transaction integrity accuracy while providing feedback to the
operation team
● Follow up with sales and procurement team to ensure compliance and consistency in policies and
procedures surrounding inventory quality and control
● Lead and supervise the team of 5-10 warehouse associates in control/quality assurance operations
within the warehouse
● Responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the operation
● Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to organization policies and procedures : to include
interviewing and training exempt and nonexempt employees, strategic planning and forecasting,
resolving problems, assigning and directing work
Basic qualification:
Assumptions:
1. Firm is expanding the business which requires coordination in terms of accurate information sharing
between various departments
2. Firm has announced about adoption of IT software / tool and arranged for appropriate infrastructure
3. A basic computer usage and knowledge training have already been given to the warehouse employees
Performance gaps:
1. Organizational level
● Integration of traceability technology in the cold storage to overcome visibility and managing
issues / challenges
● Interoperability issues between sales & procurement and warehouse teams affecting overall
profitability
● With increase in competition the firm is planning for product line extension which would
require perpetual inventory management system to avoid issues of limited visibility, managing
people and space due to inadequate storage space, improperly sorted and stored materials
2. Operational level
● Inaccurate projections in demand and supply affecting the re-ordering / replenishment
cycles
● Substantial write-offs due to expired products due perishability factor of product (seafood)
● Poor forecasting accuracy leading to in-stock and out-stock inventories
● Decentralized control in the warehouse leading to loss of sales due to no real-time data and
inventory level updates
● Issues related to misplaced/unused inventories as manual system fails or generate errors to
sort and label inventory due to manual inventory handling system
3. Individual level
● Individual in manual inventory control system is prone to human error
● Manual inventory control system is highly labor-intensive to operate
● Modification of manual data entry can be time-consuming leading to inefficiency at warehouse
level

Training Objectives:
1. To provide warehouse employees with both understanding and practical experience of range of
common to analytical techniques and representation methods of numerical data
2. Introduce basic statistical models and methods for better inventory management performance
3. To enable delegates understand and implement the essential tools for managing warehouses and
inventory in the supply chain
