She was an activist who fought for women’s rights

She was born on February 15, 1820

WHERE:
She was born in Massachusetts

EARLY LIFE:
She grew up in a Quaker family.She loved to learn and
did well at school, but she coulnd’t learn math because
she was a girl.
Back then infact women weren’t allowed to do many
things , such as own property, do certain jobs and vote.
ACTIVISM:
She started together with other activists like
Elisabeth Stanton and Frederick Douglass to
fight for the rights of all people. They
demanded suffrage.
During the 1872 presidential election she cast
her vote and was arrested.
All her life she gave speeches and wrote
articles about women’s rights. She died in 1906
before all women had the right to vote.

LEGACY
After her death suffragettes continued to fight
and eventually in 1920 the 19th amendment
passed and women could vote.
It was called the susan b. Anthony amendment
