Personal Statement
I am currently in my second year at Weston college, studying a level 3 extended
diploma course in Media. In the future I would like to work in the creative media
industry. I am a very keen writer and designer who has created large pieces of
detailed written work and produced many short videos. I have also been awarded
‘most improved student’ this year at college.
I am a confident, hardworking and determined person who has been often
complimented on my communication skills and responsible attitude.
I am a keen horse rider and have competed to a high level.

Work experience/Media experience


Past work experience and key skills involved.
Working at a copy writing company in Bristol
(September 2020-Present time)
 Carrying out research.
 Rewriting large pieces of information from client’s websites so they sound
more up to date.
 Promoted individuals and companies by developing their storylines and
producing promotional material including posters.

Waitress at the New Inn at Cross.


(January 2020-Present time)
 Serving customers in a professional and friendly manner.
 Answering customer enquiries.
 Promoting the specials board.

I carried out work experience at my local village shop.

I moved on to study Media Level3 at Weston college currently working at a
pass/merit grade with hoping to develop that onto my target grade of a distinction.

Key Skills and Achievements


 I have a polite manor and good problem-solving skills.
 I am highly motivated and have a driven attitude towards my work.
 I can confidently work in a team and can show good leadership when working
with others.
 My media course has helped me to develop my camera and editing skills so
that I can confidently create short films and videos using software such as final
cut pro and photo shop.
 I also frequently use a design software called Canva which has helped to me
embrace my creative skills.
 I have entered the 500 words competition on 4 occasions.
 I enjoy writing stories for my own personal satisfaction.

Hobbies and interests


As a hobby I really enjoy horse riding. From owning my own horse, it has given me
lots of responsibility and given me a dedicated mindset in every task I face. I also
really enjoy photography and have been highly commended in photography
competitions.
