2.1 Checking Input Power

Use a multimeter to measure the input terminal voltage for the cabinet power distribution
subrack. Verify that the input voltage meets the requirement of ZXUR 9000 GSM power
supply.
The rated input voltage for ZXUR 9000 GSM is -48 V DC. The allowed voltage fluctuation
range is from -57 V DC to -40 V DC.

2.2 Checking Power Distribution

The power distribution subrack provides power supply for all the ZXUR 9000 GSM service
subracks. Make sure that the power distribution subrack is connected properly to service
subracks through power cables.
Figure 2-1 shows the power distribution for a single service subrack.

2.4 Checking LED Indicators

Each board of the ZXUR 9000 GSM system has running and status indicators. Some
boards have special function and feature indicators. The indicators not only reflects
the operating status of the corresponding boards, but also indicates the status of board
connection, optical connection, nodes, channels, and master/slave operation mode. The
board indicator status provides an important reference for fault analysis and fault location.
For the descriptions of LED status, refer to the Board chapter in ZXUR 9000 GSM Base
Station Controller Hardware Description.

2.5 Checking Alarms

The alarm system of the network management system gives alarm information in forms
of sound, light and screen output. The alarms involve information about hardware, link,
trunk, CPU and work load. Users can analyze and locate system faults through alarm
information.

For how to handle alarms and notifications, refer to ZXUR 9000 GSM Base Station
Controller Alarm Handling Reference and ZXUR 9000 GSM Base Station Controller
Notification Handling Reference.

Chapter 2 General Troubleshooting

Figure 2-15 Query Current Alarm-Probable Cause

According to international rules, ZXUR 9000 GSM codes on all the alarms to generate
Probable Cause by the standard.
ZXUR 9000 GSM defines an alarm code and a standard cause code for every
alarm. In general, multiple alarm codes map to the same standard cause code.
For example: alarm code 198099803 Link Broken Between OMM and NE and
15010001Performance Data Delayed both have the same standard cause code 566
(Connection Establishment Error).
If the user selects some alarm codes and standard cause codes respectively in Alarm
Code tab and Probable Cause tab, the mapping relationship between these alarm
codes and standard cause code must be correct.
5. Select Alarm Code from the left basic condition selection area, as shown in Figure
2-16. Select the alarm codes to be queried from the right group box.
