Project
• Project integrated to the Luanda - Kifangondo
Expressway, comprising the execution of 210 piles of
800 mm, with a useful length of 34 m. As the project
proceeded, an average of 40 m of drilling was performed
for each pile, since the work platform was located about
6 m above the bottom elevation of the bedrock base of
the piles. In total, approximately 840 meters were drilled.

Lithology
• The foundation soil is superficially formed by
saturated sludge up to about 4-6 m deep.
Surrounding the sludge, we intersected black
polymer clays that increase in consistency as we
move deeper. The imbedding of piles was
performed on about 10 m of very stiff clay.
