Welcome remarks
The RDC Technician welcomed the team to the site visit. This was followed by introductions
accordingly. The RDC Technician then explained the mandate of the proceedings of the day
following the RFQ by WHH for Kamutsenzere PWS.
Objectives
The objective was to familiarize with the site following the RFQ by WHH to select the best
contractor to deliver the required material for the project.
Proceedings
The following sites were visited and brief background and details of each of the sites was
provided then contractors were given room to ask for question and further clarification of the
sites.
Water source (Pump house with borehole and pump)
Village Tank and Tank Stand sites
Primary School Tank and Tank Stand site
Clinic Tank and Tank Stand Site.
Questions asked, and Clarifications required by the Contractors
1. Is the contractor going to do the new pipeline network also?
2. In the case that the community is going to do the trenching and pipe network system from
the tanks, will there not be delays in the progress of works to be done thus
inconveniencing the contractor?
3. Can the solar pumping unit be either AC or DC, or it is strictly as specified in the RFQ?
4. For the security fence to be installed at the borehole site with the solar system, will it not
go under the ZESA transmission line, which is a prohibited practice?
5. Should the flowmeters to be installed be in chamber valves?
6. Are the stated tank stand heights strictly by design or deviations from the heights can be
accepted so long as water reaches the intended sites?
7. For tanks at the clinic, can they be connected in series whereby the higher tank feeds into
the lower tank when full, since they are going to be at different heights?
8. Are the RFQs going to be done in USD or local RTGS Bonds?
9. Can the submission date prescribed for the RFQ submission be extended?
