INTENSIVE ENGLISH II – STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am applying to Viadrina’s master program in International Business Administration in pursuit of a

career in academic research. I entered international business research because I enjoy discover
fundamental knowledge in business management, accounting, analysis of financial statements and
audit of a 21st century professional. This interest was confirmed by my curiosity focused on a
global vision and knowledge of a modern company and mastering the statistical-mathematical and
computer tools essential to develop investigative work.

Reasons I applied to this specific program include the fact it is ranked among the best business
schools on the market in Germany, it utilizes the latest strategies and approaches to ensure student’s
knowledge is up to date, and it helps students easily glide into the competitive business world. The
program is challenging, it helps students think outside the box, and my previous academic
experience has prepared me for every challenge of joining this study program. I have participated in
study groups in Economic Sciences Faculty, focused on cost control within a company and
outsourcing in Colombia, with a research work focused on its implementation and effects on the
Colombian economy, and advantages and disadvantages within an organization.

The research work focused in outsourcing in accounting services, help to propose, design and
execute audit procedures for the business measure, with a scope that varies from the previous
evaluation of the internal control systems to the issuance of audit reports where it shows variations
in costs and economic reality. This work developed during a year has had results within the
structuring of objective criteria for the application of accounting outsourcing focused on the area of
strategic accounting for Colombian companies.

After completing my master’s degree, it is my goal to use all the knowledge I have gained to
develop investigative skills concerning business problems, in a profound, argumentative,
interpretative, proactive, multidisciplinary, innovative and ethical way, with the objective of
nurturing theoretical and methodological knowledge, especially in the field of business management
and audit. My fascination with research will provide me with the necessary ambition to succeed in
Viadrina’s program, while my coursework and field preparation will provide me with the necessary
skills to succeed in Viadrina’s program.
