1.1. Shear resistance 1.4. Length of anchorage
Three types of resistance are mentioned in technical advisory: DIRAX dowels must be used with an anchorage length “L” defined below

Formwork/shuttering advisory, namely: 0.75 for a single dowel, 0.90 in the case of 2 dowels.

b) Rebars

HA-FE-E500 rebars must be placed as indicated by the schematic diagrams below.

Note: This diagram explains the principle of placement of the dowel but does not show the complementary rebars that are necessary
for this type of bearing.

SHEAR DOWELS
For case 2, it is essential to check that the dowels in fact work in shear ( zero moment ), that the shear dowel does not interfere with If the hangers do not also If the vertical hangers also

It is not essential to have the dowel in the centreline of the slab. Reinforcements

c) Special cases • Pour the concrete alongside the connector
(do not pour the concrete directly onto the dowel)
For particular applications (harmful cracking calculation, fire truck loads, earthquake zone, fc28 ≥ 35 Mpa,
• When the concrete is poured, it must be vibrated
etc.), it is essential to refer to technical advisory no. 3/15-815 or our technical department.
