Authentication

(March 9, 2018)

Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Marriage Contract, No Criminal Clearance, Academic Credentials
and other documents issued by the Philippine government departments and agencies, or Power of
Attorney, Affidavit and other documents, to be used in China(includes Hong Kong and Macau) and if
required, shall be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy according to the following instructions.

Authentication Procedures 
1) Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Marriage Contract, No Criminal Clearance, Academic
Credentials and other documents issued by the Philippine government departments and agencies
shall be authenticated in consecutive order by the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines
and the Chinese Embassy.
2) Power of Attorney, Affidavit and other documents shall be notarized by the Notary Publics, and
authenticated in consecutive order by the Regional Trial Court,the Department of Foreign Affairs of
the Philippines and the Chinese Embassy .

Documents Required 
1) One fully completed Application Form of Consular Legalization.
2) The original DFA authenticated document and a photocopy.
3) The applicant's passport and a photocopy of the photo/information page.
If the authentication document is applied by an agent, the agent's valid ID and a photocopy is also
required.
4) If the document is business related(commercial documet), a photocopy of the passport of the
company's legal representative and the document proving the person's legal representative status
shall be submitted.

How to Apply 
Please submit the application personally, or entrust someone else to submit the application. Mail
application is not accepted. No appointment is needed.
Application Fee (Unit: Peso) and Processing Time

Application Fee:

1)Chinese Citizen:

  Civil Document,400/per document;

  Commercial Document,800/per document

2)Foreign Citizen:

  Civil Document,1200/per document;

  Commercial Document,2400/per document

Processing Time:

  1) Regular processing time is 4 working days.(for example, apply on Monday and pick up on
Thursday.)
  2) Express service (third working day release): an additional fee of 1100 pesos per document will
be charged.
  3) Rush service (second working day release): an additional fee of 1700 pesos per document will
be charged.
  4) Pay fees when collecting. Only cash payment is accepted.

Other Important Information 


1) According to regulations of China, a single status affidavit used for marriage registration in China
is valid for only 6 months from the date of issuance.
2) An application shall be refused if the consular official believes that the document is unlawful, does
not meet the requirements of application process/format, or is altered and unbound.
