Change Management Plan for LMS implementation

Executive summary

LMS are focused on online learning delivery but support a range of uses, acting as a
platform for online content, including courses, both asynchronous based and
synchronous based. This Change Management plan LMS implementation discuss about
the plans, role, responsibilities to organise changes in college. We discuss about what
are the technologies to be updated/added, how to minimize risks, mange, perform
efficiently. Etc.

Strategic objectives

The strategic objectives of the organization are:

 To offer students new ways of learning


 To expand throughout Australia
 Increase student numbers for the year 2019

ICT system changes

LMS is being introduced, i.e. Online Moodle service.

For this several hardware and software are required which are listed below:

Hardware requirements:

 Disk space: 200MB for the Moodle code. 5GB (highly recommended)
 Processor: 1GHz (min), 2GHz dual core or more (highly recommended)
 Memory (RAM): 1GB (min), 2GB or more is recommended, 8GB plus is likely on a
large production server.

Software requirements:

 Moodle upgrade: Moodle 3.1.5 or later


 PHP version: minimum PHP 7.1.1 note: minimum 7.3.x support is being
implemented (@ MDL-62430) and not ready for production with this release.
 PHP extension INTL is required since Moodle 3.4 (it was recommended in 2.0
onwards)

Financial

Financial costing for LMS implementation is believed to be around $26,000 for the first
year. It includes all the cost for upgrade of s/w. h/w. salary of required personnel, i.e.
LMS specialist, IT technician.

Action expenses

HW $10,000

SW $12,000

Salary $4,000

Total $26,000

Once you have completed the Change Management Plan, you should orally discuss and
submit this document to your supervisor for review and feedback.

Note that the assessor will play the role of your supervisor for the purpose of this
assessment task.
