0 Discussion
There are many applications of UV-Vis spectroscopy in our industry which are in food
industry, biology and chemistry field and also engineering and material science. In the food
industry, UV-vis spectroscopy helps to cater the need for more rapid process control
information, to comply with safety and environmental guidelines and reduce the costs of
production. The main advantages of using spectroscopic methods for bioprocess monitoring
are it can include the inherent speed of analysis, sensitivity, and robustness of the obtained
data. As a result, it helps to improve the safeness of the food produced in the factory to
consume. The food industry involved are in making wine, fermented food and etc. In
engineering and material science field, the used of UV-Vis Spectroscopy started from
material identification to process and quality controls. Furthermore, Raman spectroscopy
can provide understanding of crystalline alignment, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy
which is known in utilizing in order to identify atomic composition and emission monitoring
spectroscopy analyzes plasma composition during chemical deposition processes. In biology
and chemistry field, UV-Vis helps to detect impurities of organic molecules, determining the
dissociation constants of acids and bases, dissociation constants of acids and bases,
quantitative and qualitative analysis of pharmaceutical substances, chemical kinetics,
determination molecular weight, identify the structure elucidation of organic compounds and
also act as HPLC detector.
