D. TEST PROCEDURE AND CHECKLIST

Inspect impact recorder prior to unloading, if applicable. SAES-P-121

D1
NETA, ATS- Sec. 7.2.2.1.3 Sec. 3.2

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF VIBRATION EVENT:

Vibration Event / Recorder / Transportation Data

SAES-P-121
D2 Log System (such as Cargo log FAT90) is a computerized system for
Sec. 3.2
measuring and registration of impacts during transportation and handling
of transformers.
Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation.

The registration unit is normally placed in a tight box on the transformer in

SAES-P-121
D3 order to protect the measuring device from outside damage.
Sec. 3.2
Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation.

This registration unit records Humidity, Acceleration X-Y-Z, Temperature,

SAES-P-121
D4 Tilt and Vibration.
Sec. 3.2
Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation.

The registration unit is a battery-operated data logging unit fitted with built-
SAES-P-121
D5 in sensors for the above mentioned fields of operation.
Sec. 3.2
Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation.

The unit is equipped with a 3.6 volt lithium battery and the collected values
SAES-P-121
D6 are being stored in a built in computer memory.
Sec. 3.2
Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation.

The measurements are initiated and analyzed by a PC / Windows

SAES-P-121
D7 program and the measuring unit is started by setting pre-adjusted limit
Sec. 3.2
values. Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation.

The registration unit is fitted with an indication system for immediate

analysis of the measuring period. By using the indication system, the user
can establish whether the pre-adjusted limit values have been exceeded
or not. This can be done as following description without using the PC-
program:
a) Open the protection box by loosening the four corner screws.
b) Four incident lamps are placed on the measuring unit. SAES-P-121
D8
Sec. 3.2
c) One test button is located to the right of the incident lamps.
d) Push the
test button and release, if any of the pre-adjustable limits have been
exceeded the incident lamp for that function will lit up. If any of the incident
lamps shines, the manufacturer of transformer shall be notified.
Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation

STORAGE:
The Vibration
SAES-P-121
D9 Event Recorder shall be switched-off when the transformer is stored in
Sec. 3.2
yard or at concrete foundation pad.
Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation.

HANDLING:
The Vibration Event / Recorder / Transportation Data Log System (such
SAES-P-121
D10 as Cargo log FAT90) shall be in operation during any kind of transformer
Sec. 3.2
handling from one location to another.
Refer to Manufacturer's Recommendation.
