Statistical Treatment of Data

Statistical treatment of data is essential in order to make use of the data in the right form and a
thorough understanding is necessary to conduct the right experiments with the right inferences from the
data obtained. The data gathered is recorded, tabulated, and analyzed by means of following statistical
measures:

1. Percentage. This is used to determine the proportion of the students in terms of their usage.
Formula:
% = f/n x 100
Where:
% = Percentage
F = Frequency
n = Total number of cases
100 = Constant value

2. Mean. This is used to determine the mean age and the final weight of each item in the survey
questionnaire.
Formula:
Weighted Mean X = ∑fx
n

Where:
X = weighted mean
F = frequency
x = individual score
n = number of cases
