    Field Observation #1

    The school is located on a residential street (Clifford Ave), in North Las Vegas, between

    two major streets (Carey Ave, Lake Meade). The school grounds are well kept, and up to date.

    The buildings reflect the new design of schools in the Clark County School district, with

    playground coverings against the Las Vegas desert heat, and sun shading covering the buildings,

    and inside cafeteria, to protect student and staff from the heat.

    Inside the hallways are lined with artwork from the students. The overall feel of the

    school is a safe place. The artwork reflect that the focus is on the success of its students.

    The make-up of the school reflects the population of the surrounding neighborhoods to

    the school, African American and Latino, as the school sets at the edge of North Las Vegas, and

    Sunrise Manor.

    The school motto is “Discovering Our Path to Success". They are known as “The

    Home of the Pathfinders”.
