Casey Affleck Exposes How Big Cats Are Dragged and Hit With Sticks in the Circus

Hi, I'm Casey Affleck for PETA.

I choose to work in the entertainment industry, but animals in circuses and other traveling
shows are never given a choice.

Their lives of abuse, neglect, deprivation, and confinement are forced on them. In the wild,
big cats grow up with their mothers who provide protection, comfort, and guidance. But in
the circus terrified cubs are separated from their protective mothers, and the maternal
bond is destroyed. In the wild, lions freely roam the open grasslands while tigers prefer the
dense forest and swimming in ponds.

But in circuses and traveling shows, they are carted around the country in barren cages
and deprived of everything they need, want and deserve.

Many are forced to eat, drink, sleep, urinate and defecate, all in one small place.

And are let out of their cramped enclosures only to train or perform. To coerce lions and
tigers into performing, trainers may deprive them of food before training sessions.

They drag the big cats around by heavy chains or ropes around their necks and hit them
with sticks, poles, and whips.

They beat them mercilessly, and bully them into jumping through hoops.

Sometimes flaming ones, even though big cats are innately terrified of fire.

And they force them to balance on pedestals and stand up on their hind legs.

These ridiculous, meaningless stunts are confusing and can even be painful.

This industry tears families apart and subjects individuals to a life of torment and
deprivation.

Please help stop this by refusing to buy a ticket to any circus that uses animal.

Thank you.
