INTRODUCTION

The recent shift from

Traditional to Modern
Banking has been quite
popular,
but only among a
particular section of the
society. Through this
research we try
to understand the
problems associated with
internet banking and why
there is

3
hesitation among a part of
the population for the
same. Through this
research
we hope to understand the
efficiency of online
banking system and find
out the
problem areas.
With technology grabbing a huge chunk of our lives today, everything is now
available at the tap of our fingers. Transportation especially has become a
hassle free task and can be arranged within seconds.

Firms like Uber and Ola have contributed to this endeavour and made lives
easier for the public. However, the firms are yet to expand into rural markets
with a customer base to explore and navigate through. Jadcherla in particular
hasn’t really tasted the easiness of booking cabs, autos and motorbikes at their
fingertips.

Our study focuses on how the shift to online cab services has been prominent
among a particular section of society, how efficient is the process of procuring
transportation in the small town of Jadcherla and safety issues.

4
We analyse the issues faced by the local residents as well as the students living
in hostels and try to find a solution to it. This study tries to determine whether
online cab service operations in small towns like Jadcherla would be a
successful venture or not.

We have used
convenience sampling

Due to the time
constraint, despite our

circulate the questionnaire
to a large
population its reach was
limited to our professional

Some of the tools used –

1. Questionnaire

A questionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of questions (or

other types of prompts) for the purpose of gathering information from
respondents. We prepared a Questionnaire which had questions that could be
used to understand the response of the local residents as well as college
students as to how aware they are regarding online cab services. We collected

8
primary data through this method by going to Jadcherla market and took
interviews of people be it working or non-working and asked them various
questions related to online transport service for them.

2. In Depth Interviews

Interviews are a key data collection method for social research. There are
many reasons to use interviews for collecting data and using it as a research
instrument. They are mainly useful in cases where there is need to attain highly
personalized data. The main advantage of interviews stems from their
capability to offer a complete description and analysis of a research subject.
Interviews are thus useful for gaining insight and context into a topic.

CONCLUSION

The major findings from our survey study indicated towards preference
towards online transport services – preferably auto and bike services. Some of
the reasons behind the decisions are –

 Ease of booking – Apps like Uber and Ola make it convenient to book
transportation facilities thereby eradicating the hassle of explaining the
location and pinpointing where exactly is the pickup and drop location.
 Payment Method – Online payment methods like Uber Wallet, Ola
Money, GPay and Paytm ease out the process of paying
