Each project should be structured and well thought out. For this project I recognize
to develop a Work break down structure for easiest understand what we should do
for opening dental office. Work break down structure aims to visualize actions
required to be performed. The structure consists of several levels which are level 1
– project name, level 2 – tasks of the project, level 3 – subtasks and level 4 – work
packages. All these parts have to be detailed in the main project paper.
At level 2, task “Defining the optimal location of the DC” is the most important part
of project, because only after its realization it is possible to start performing other
tasks. This task includes 1 subtask (3 rd lvl) – analyze area, forecasting. In 4 th lvl we
should collect info about population, age category, area and competitors.
Task “Planning the renovation or construction of a new building” includes two
subtasks. The first one is to purchase or lease the build. After determining the
optimal location it is important to find the number of working cabinets in the DC.
There is some paperwork needed to get prepared. The second subtask is to create a
plan of the building and determine what kinds of materials, equipment and
specialists are required.
The last task is to pass all the necessary certifications. Only after gaining all
essential permissions, orders and certificates, DC can start its operations.
