Innovation Institute for Fan Experience (IIFX)

IIFX seeks an intern who seeks to be in the sports or entertainment industries long term. The intern will gain
experience working with Dr. Lou Marciani, one of the top figures in the world of sports and entertainment
safety, security and fan experience. The intern will also work with the IIFX’s marketing agency The Focus Group
help the IIFX team, plan and implement its offerings and build what will become a global organization in the
field.

Location: Anywhere. The organization is based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi but this position can be virtual.
Language: Fluent in English

Intern Duties
 Help vet and curate worldwide content in the field for newsletters posting to the blog, sharing
on social media
 Help create weekly digest newsletter and post same to blog.
 Help recruit members and sponsors of the organization as a whole.
 Respond to inquiries about various events
 Help coordinate and promote conferences, forums, town halls working with agency
 Field calls and emails from prospective members, sponsors, etc.
 Help plan and organize events
 Help plan, promote, sell sponsorships, virtual exhibitor booths and recruit attendees.
 Communicate with sponsors, exhibitors, members
 Assist with research
 Assist with database management
 Other tasks as assigned

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

 Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, sports marketing/management, operations
or related field.
 Graduate degree (completed or in progress) in same areas
 Desire to work long-term in the sports
 Demonstrated drive to excel and exceed expectations
 Thirst to learn, possesses intellectual curiosity
 Prior experience with event management, recruiting sponsorships, exhibitors and attendees a
plus
 Experience with the business applications of social media platforms
 Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
 Knowledge of Wordpress a plus
 Exceptional written & verbal communication, editing, time management and problem-solving
skills.
