All athletes of all levels have made sport part of their family, have spent
countless hours in the stadium for training, experienced success and failure,
experienced joy and frustration, sports activity is not only part of the their lives,
but constitutes their entire life. When they reach the top of success as one of
the best, it is very likely that they will earn a lot of money, In this text we will
talk about the 5 highest paid athletes in this year 2020 based on the “Forbes
magazine”.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year has not been the best in history, at
least not for most, because some may not have such a bad time being part of an
exclusive list. These are the highest paid athletes of 2020, where there were
several movements compared to 2019. Every year, Forbes magazine lists the
highest paid athletes in the world of sports, and this, like everything else this
year, has been affected not only in terms of health, but also economically, to the
point that there are athletes who had to lower their salary. Although there were
some who did not do so badly because their income, based on their contracts
already signed and their sponsorships, continued to be in the millions.

In position number 5 we find ​Lebron James,​

Lebron James was born in Akron, a region of
Ohio located an hour from Cleveland. His early
years were not easy. His mother, Gloria, was
only 16 years old and his biological father, a

about his son. A young Gloria had to fight to

After playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat, James signed with
the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. He accepted a four-year contract worth $ 154
million when Klutch Sports Group broke the news. Although this is a large
amount of money, it only represents a part of your total income. this year James
achieved earnings of $ 88.2 million, divided into $ 28.2 million for salary and
bonuses, plus $ 60 million for other items.

Neymar is one of the best players in the
world. He plays as a left winger and his
current team is F.C. Barcelona of La Liga of
Spain. At 25, he already manages a fortune

Worth.
Neymar is a Brazilian player who started
playing soccer with his father, a former
player. When Neymar was only 17 years old,
he signed his first big contract with Brazilian
Santos. This contract paid him $ 1.7 million
per year. This 2020 he accumulate a fortune
of 95 million dollars.

In the middle position we can identify Lionel

Messi. He is a football soccer player from
Argentina and actually he is part of Barcelona
football club in Spain. For many years he has
been considered the best soccer player in the
World and also he has won a lot of awards like
Gold Balloon and FIFA World Player.
Messi has lived in Spain since he was 13 years
old, he had his debut when he was 17 years old
and in this year he has profits of $ 104 million
dollars.
Number 2

In second position, we have Cristiano Ronaldo.

He was born in 1985, is a potuguese football
soccer player that actually is part of Juventus
team Serie A in Italy. As same as Lionel Messi he
has been considered the best football player in
recent years. With 450 goals he is the top scorer
of Real Madrid football club, also he has been
part of four different teams: Sporting,
Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
Today he has a fortune of $105 million dollars
per and is an icon for his generation.

Number 1

In the first place of this top, we find Roger Federer a

tennis player who is the highest paid athlete in this year,
his fortune $106.3 million dollars. He is from Switzerland
and he is 39 years old, he has won 20 individual titles
and he has kept the first place in ATP ranking. He has a
playstile that is adaptable and this is the reason why he
is versatile and has a variety of hits. A lot of sports
media and sports authorities say Roger Federer is the
best tennis player in the history of this sport.

To sum up, we can say that when you love your job, you have many possibilities
of going further than you think, all of them were once newbies who went
unnoticed among everyone else, they show that with a lot of effort and
dedication we can achieve our goals and even manage to transcend being known
worldwide as one of the best maybe in history. We know that there are many
controversies about the money these athletes earn, however we believe that the
effort they put into each sporting event shows why they are the best in the
world.
