Case on Pioneering Culture

PROBLEMS: -

Women hires from campus leave us after three years i.e. after completion of their first full role for
higher studies

FOR RETAINING HIRINGS

In order to retain the women hires from campus who leave after 2-3 years for higher
studies a development program with an effective career progression mapping could be
put in place so that they feel they are not only valued but also have growth opportunities
available even by being part of the organization.

Having an agreement in place with the women leaving where they can rejoin the
organization after completing their higher studies and apply for a higher position if their
credentials match with the job requirement. This way it will save money and time for the
organization that would have been spent for recruitment.

FOR CULTURAL SHIFT

For building the Cultural shift right from the leadership to the last person concerned
there should be focus on organising workshops and committees which organize
sessions for creating awareness among employees about the various merits of diversity
and inclusion not only for the organisation but also the employees.

Having more women in senior leadership positions can influence the culture and
reputation or the supply chain career brand of a company in ways that are critical to
winning the war on talent.

FOR PROMOTING WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

For promoting women to leadership positions comprehensive training modules for

women empowerment and women leadership should be put in place to build an
inclusive business environment and promote gender equality.

Form partnerships with supply chain programs at business universities that have at
least 40% female participation for undergraduates.

FOR ATTRACTING WOMEN TOWARDS SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

To help retain women in supply chain management providing formal and informal
mentorship programs and increasing the visibility of key leaders who serve as role
models can go a long way.

Improving hiring efforts by promoting flexible timings with positive work life balance and
better employee benefits to women.
