SOP 1st Draft
Growing up, I always loved mathematics and languages. I have studied in English and
learned a little bit of Japanese, which I found interesting. The best way to use those interests is
to apply them to a career. I think I am suited to pursue a profession in the business field. As I
mentioned about loving algebra, there is one achievement that I am most proud of. In my old
school, I won a copper medal in a mathematics competition and also received a cash prize of
one thousand baht. Other than that, the school took a picture of mine and hanged it in front of
the school’s entry. This is how I made my school proud and being recognized vice versa I will
make your university proud of me and you will never regret it.

The only motivation for me is my father. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in

Business Administration. After that, he worked as an accountant at the Bank of Thailand, and
where he’s now is my dream goal. You may be wondering, "Why the Bank of Thailand?" The
reason is that it provided worthwhile welfare for the employees. It is able to withdraw the
medical expenses in some hospitals. It not only provided medical withdrawal for the employees
but also their whole family. Because of this offer, my family and I have nothing to be worried
about our healthcare and future-financial problems if it occurs. Hence, there is no doubt that I
decided to follow in my father’s footsteps.

I used my childhood time to find my interests by going to my father’s workplace when I

had my day-off. At first, I just wanted to go to play with friends just like what a normal child
would, but I think I have to turn it into an opportunity to find myself. I walked into a big square
room. Everyone was sitting back-to-back, they were crunching with numbers, kept recording and
organizing the entries. Someone might find it boring and so stressful to just sitting, typing,
translating texts into a piece of statements. This is what the outside people were looking at
accounting. As a minority, I found it interesting to understand. This is a reason that I chose to
study accounting when I was an eleventh grader. I have found accounting interesting all year
long without regretting choosing it. There is one project that I am most proud of, which is the
school’s student market. The teacher was assigned to create the financial statement of my
business as the final project. It was so beneficial I can use the in-class knowledge to construct
an actual work. I could feel how in-detail the accountants should be. Imagine, you are piecing up
your computer, but you forget to connect with some square metals. Just like accounting:
whenever a small mistake occurs, it would affect the whole following entries to be wrong, and
the progress will not be working. Accounting is the language of business used in every
company. Therefore, I had some ground knowledge of reading and interpreting financial
statements for business diagnosis and decision-making.

On top of that, I earned personal experience from doing an internship at one of the
exporting companies. I learned to become more cautious, in-detail, and symmetric to all the
works they gave. The most enjoyable part for me is when I did the Accounting system. I truly
knew where the information should be placed and suddenly became a fast learner. I had a
chance to meet with many skilled people. From talking with them: to be able to study in
Business Administration, I must understand a big picture of how business works as a whole, not
just one particular subject. Thus, I decided to take another two courses, which are marketing
and skills for leadership in my twelfth grade.

Considering my extensive experience in business administration, my work alongside

many experienced people, and attending the activities involved within this field, I believe I am an
ideal candidate for this faculty. I am looking forward to starting a prolific study with a Bachelor's
degree in Business Administration at Thammasat University.

SOP Final Draft
While growing up, I always loved mathematics and languages. I have studied in English
and learned a little bit of Japanese, which I found interesting. These interests will be very useful
in the career I have chosen; I want to work in the business field. I particularly like algebra, and
this is connected to one achievement of which I am most proud. In my old school, I won the
bronze medal in a mathematics competition and also received a cash prize. Because of this
success, the school hung my picture at the entrance to the school. This recognition made the
school proud of me, in the same way, I will do everything that I can to make Thammasat
university proud of me.

The Thammasat Business School has an excellent reputation and that is why I have
chosen to go there to study accounting and business administration. Furthermore, this university
will provide me with more experiential learning opportunities compared with other universities.

The main motivation for me is my father, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in
Business Administration. After that, he worked as an accountant at the Bank of Thailand, which
is my dream goal. You may be wondering, "Why the Bank of Thailand?" The reason is that the
Bank of Thailand provides worthwhile welfare benefits for the employees. For example, it
provides medical insurance for employees and their families. Because of this benefit, my family
and I have nothing to be worried about regarding our healthcare and future-financial problems.
Hence, I have no doubt that I decided to follow in my father’s footsteps.

When I was a child I always enjoyed going to my father’s workplace when I had my

school’s student market. The assignment was to create the financial statement of my business
as the final project. It was so beneficial I could use the in-class knowledge in a real-life situation,
I could feel how detailed the accountants should be. Imagine a computer with some parts
missing, it will not work and accounting is the same, if you make one small mistake it will affect
other entries and the whole process will not work. Accounting is the language of business used
in every company. Therefore, I already have some knowledge and experience in reading and
interpreting financial statements for business diagnosis and decision-making.

In addition, I have gained personal experience from doing an internship at an export

company. While working there I learned to be careful, precise, and systematic in all the work
they gave me. The most enjoyable part for me was when I learned the accounting system. I truly
knew then where the information should be placed and suddenly I became a fast learner. I had
the chance to meet with many skilled people. They told me that if I wanted to study Business
Administration I must understand the big picture of how business works as a whole, not just one
particular area. Thus, in my twelfth grade, I decided to take another two courses, which are
Marketing and Leadership Skills to enhance my knowledge.

Considering my experience in business administration, my internship work alongside

many experienced people, and having already started to study areas in the field of business, I
believe I am an ideal candidate for this faculty. I am looking forward to studying for a Bachelor
degree in Business Administration at Thammasat University.
