Dear Parishioners,
Friday of this past week,
we celebrated the feast of
Our Lady of Lourdes,
which commemorates the
apparition of the Blessed
Virgin Mary to Berna-
dette Soubirous in
Lourdes, France during
the 19th century. During
one of the apparitions, Our Lady revealed to Bernadette a
spring with miraculous healing properties. Since then, mil-
lions have visited this wondrous place in hopes of being healed
from their illnesses.
With hope in their hearts for their own healing, many people
are turning to the Lord this month to ask of healing of their
diseases. There are several healing or anointing of the sick
Masses being celebrated in our diocese this month. We are
also involved in such a celebration.
On Tuesday evening, February 22, at 6:00 pm, we will
have a healing Mass. It is my fervent hope that many of you
will attend this event with a great deal of hope in your hearts.
God still heals people today. His healing is another mark of
his love for us. I invite you to join us in celebrating that love.

DAY OF RENEWAL IN COLFAX
The Diocesan Service Committee of
the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in
the Diocese of Alexandria is hosting a
Day of Renewal on Saturday, Febru-
ary 19 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church Hall in Colfax. The theme
is “Now is the Acceptable Time! Now is the Day of Sal-
vation!” The guest speaker will be Johnny Bertucci of
the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of New Orleans.
Registration at 8:30 am will be followed by Praise and
Worship, talks, testimonies, lunch, and fellowship.
Registration is $12, which includes lunch. Call Diane

the vestibule. Deadline is February 12.
RIVEROAKS TO SHOWCASE MENARD ART AND
ART TEACHER
Barbara Clover, art teacher at
Holy Savior Menard, and her
art students will be honored at
a reception Friday, February
25 from 5:00-7:00 pm at
RiverOaks Artist Commu-
nity. Mrs. Clover was named
National Secondary Art Educa-
tor of the Year for 2010.
She and her students will offer a class on Saturday,
February 26 teaching the artwork project to be exhib-
ited - Kaleidoscopes. The event is free and open to
the public.
