STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

As a Mechanical Engineer with an ardent interest in Industrial work environment, I solely wish to
undertake a Master’s program in any of Sustainable Industrial Engineering, Materials Science and
Engineering or Subsea and Pipeline Engineering through the PTDF scholarship platform. I have worked
in various Engineering platforms ever since my graduation from the University as a Mechanical engineer
and these field experiences are directly related to the chosen courses above.

I have fair understanding of Industrial process flow, Quality Management standards, Production
management, Equipment maintenance, Pipeline maintenance, Installation practices, Rigging operations,
and procurement services.

I believe that earning an adequate and improved knowledge in this areas of study will help me transfer
same into the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industries to better their processes and consequently boost their
efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.

These fields of studies will benefit the Oil and Gas Industries in Nigeria in many ways including;
improved process designs, Cost effectiveness, improved material selection for projects, Manufacturing
system optimization, improved supply chain management, reliable engineering asset management, Best
maintenance approaches, sustainable Quality assurance/ Quality Control and better research
approaches for a continuous Improvement Processes.

This studies will lead to tremendous national developments, in that there will be reduction in
environmental pollutions due to improved industrial processes and techniques, there will be an increase
in productivity which directly boost the nation’s revenue, and there will be local content developments
as the earned knowledge will be imparted on others. More so, there will be reduction in hazard by
integrating more reliable material selections, approaches and methodologies in day to day Oil and Gas
processing.
