Effect of Light on the Growth of Green Bean Seeds

Light is a factor that influences plant growth. This study aims to determine the differences in the
growth of green beans in dark and bright places and to determine the effect of light on the growth
of green beans.

Twenty green beans are divided into two groups and planted in jars with the same planting media
and watering techniques. Group I is applied in a dark place while group II is placed in a bright
place. The growth of green beans is measured every day for six days. The plant height for six
days is averaged.

The results showed that growth in group I was 1.03, 2.71, 4.5, 12.1, 21.05, 23.32 while growth in
group II was 0.16, 0.43, 5.21, 7.7, 11.65, 13.15. The average growth of group I was 10.782 cm /
day while group II was 6.38 cm / day. Group I grew 59% faster than group II.

There is a difference in growth between green beans grown in dark and bright places. Light
affects the growth of green beans. Green bean seeds grow in a dark place faster than in bright
places.
