Police, NGOs join hands to help migrant workers

TNN | May 12, 2020, 04.52 AM IST

AURANGABAD: City police have joined hands with some non-government organisations (NGO) to take care of migrant workers
resorting to walking back to their native homes in other states.
As per the initiative, accommodation facilities for around 1,500 people have been set up at different places where the workers
will also be provided with food and water.

"It is not the duty of police to feed and arrange camps for migrant workers. However, we believe that it is the responsibility of
every capable individual to contribute their bit in helping fellow human beings sustain and come out alive during this
pandemic," commissioner of police Chiranjeev Prasad said.
