II. BACKGROUND/ ANALYSING THE SITUATION

The Philippines ranks third among countries most at risk for disasters, including
floods, storms, and earthquakes. In the past 30 years, more than 360 disasters struck
the Philippines, with a total death toll of 33,000 people which affected 120 million
people. Typhoons and floods are the most devastating in terms of their economic and
social impact, accounting for 80 percent of all deaths, 90 percent of the total number of
affected people, and 92 percent of the total economic impact.

For other people, flood is just all about simply too much water around our house.
Flooding is extremely dangerous and has the potential to wipe away an entire city,
coastline, or area, and cause extensive damage to life and property. It also has great

erosive power and can be extremely destructive, even if it is a foot high. But raining is
one of the natural events that exist in our world. And too much rain can cause floods if
we do not do some prevention. Even though these are natural events, we can do
something to prevent them from having a great impact.

III. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The event will be a three-day event where on the first day, it will be focusing on
discussing or educating people, there will be a seminar about Flood Control, Awareness
of the Effects of the Flood, and Flood Preparedness. And for the 2nd Day, it will be the
Team Building, where we want the youth to have a critical minding or thinking when it
comes to facing these natural phenomena, and also that the youth can have a chance
to engage or participate in the said activity. This is the time where social engagement
will happen for them to know their purpose why they are part in this event. For the last
and 3rd Day, it will be the start of Construction of the Sea defence wall and planting
Trees. We cannot prevent natural disasters, but we can prevent floods in other ways.
The Philippines experienced floods due to lack of prevention and knowledge for the
natural disaster.

IV. TARGET GOALS

This event will focus on educating and giving awareness to the youth sector for
them to know the importance of prevention and awareness to the things that we can do
to save our family. To plant more trees to prevent floods and also building or
constructing the Sea Defence Wall Project. To inspire more youth that no matter what
happen, we can still stand and continue our life. To help the families who are affected to
a typhoon to stand up again and continue living.
