NAME: HOT DIP ZINC - IRON ALLOY COATED STEEL SHEET AND STRIP
1. GENERAL
This specification covers the requirements for double sided hot-dipped Zinc
coating converted to Zinc-Iron alloy for low carbon steel sheet and strip.
2. APPLICATION
This material is generally used for making vehicle exterior panels, interior panels
and reinforcements with the zinc iron alloy coating on the surface of both sides to
provide perforation corrosion resistance. Zinc-Iron alloy coatings are more readily
weldable than hot-dipped Zinc coatings (HN 1043).
3. REFERENCE SPECIFICATIONS
* NOTE: AS 1397-1993 also covers Type Z coatings (Zinc hot-dipped) and Type
AZ coatings (Aluminium Zinc Alloy). These coatings are not included in HN 1907.
Refer HN 1043 for Type Z coatings.
