RATIONALE AND BACKGROUND

Everyone is aware about developing plenty of technological advancement, and it has a


good impact on our environment. The inventor ought to develop some machines that will help
people to make their work easier, like the CLiQQ machine in the convenience stores, its function
is to buy load, e-pins, pay bills, adding cash to e-money, and send money. This study will help to
clear the issue about CLiQQ machines, for instance, the machines don't always have a connection
and an inquiry declined that trouble for the users. So it is important to acknowledge the users on
how effective it is to use this machine and if it really aims its mission to help people do it easier
and less hassle.
According to Technology Company Star Telecom Alliance Resources Inc. (STAR, Inc.),
makers of Filipino mobile phone brand Starmobile, has forged a partnership with convenience
store chain 7-Eleven to introduce an innovative e-commerce business model that aims to make
online shopping easier for consumers nationwide. "This e-commerce model that gives customers
a variety of flexible discovery, payment, and pick-up options first rolled out in 7-Eleven stores in
Taiwan. It has proven so successful that 35% of all e-commerce packages in the country now go
through 7-Eleven branches, eventually helping make Taiwan the world’s most developed
e- commerce market, with 18% share of total retail,” said Dan Marogy of 7-Eleven
Philippines. Seventy-five percent of offline retail transactions in the Philippines cost Php 600.00
and below. However, online vendors can spend up to an average of Php 150.00 fulfilling these
orders, with expenses going even higher when returns and failed deliveries are factored. This eats
into their margins and discourages them from investing further in their e-commerce channels.
7-Eleven, the Philippines' leading convenience store chain, is taking convenience to the
next level by bringing its CLiQQ rewards program to its customers. It’s a refreshing
change, especially when most retailers offer physical cards or apps that take up precious
space on the phone. CLiQQ, 7-Eleven’s loyalty program, is the first rewards program in
the country to be accessible. CLiQQ Kiosks in 7-Eleven stores allows you to buy load, e-pins,
pay bills and add cash to your e-money.
This study aims to know the utilization and convenience of 7-Eleven customers with their
thoughts and experiences about the 7-Eleven CLiQQ machine around Caloocan City. This will
serve as a guide to the customers to know the importance of using and having a card or having
knowledge to use the machine of 7-Eleven CLiQQ machine.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to identify the different problems encounter by the users of CLiQQ Kiosk
in 7 eleven Stores. Many people become the users of CLiQQ and it becomes the means of their
settlement to pay. This study will attempt to answer the following research questions:

1.) What are the different problems encounter by the users when using CLiQQ machine?

2.) What are the factors affecting the effectiveness of the CLiQQ machine?

3.) How convenient the CLiQQ machine to the users?


HYPOTHESES

The researchers didn’t found any answers regarding to the different problems and if the
CLiQQ kiosk is really convenient to the selected users of 7 eleven stores.

The researchers was able to found and give an answer to the different problems encounter
by the selected users of CLiQQ and proven the convenience of the utilization of CLiQQ machine
of 7 eleven stores at Caloocan city

THEORETICAL AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

The term Utilization is used to describe the act of using materials, products services to
make things function, extend the life span of machineries, improve durability of materials and
other things that can lead to better performance.(Corrosionpedia)
In this research the researchers can use multiple theoretical background in this perspective
include the others, The Values Sensitive Design, Expectancy- Value Theory, Product – Process
Concept.
The Value Sensitive Design, this theory aims to understand and study the value of CLiQQ
machines in every 7 eleven store at Caloocan City. This theory can be used to know the
effectiveness of CLiQQ machine towards public use and in terms of its quality due to
public demands.
Expectancy – Value Theory, this theory aims to understand and study on how behavior
and effects of self-efficacy beliefs of customers have explored towards using CLiQQ machines in
7 eleven stores at Caloocan City
Product – Process Concept, this theory works toward how innovation of
technology especially in Convenience stores like 7 eleven affects the customer service and
experience in using CLiQQ machine in 7 eleven stores at Caloocan City.
All of this Theories can be used in this research because they are relevant to Utilization
and Convenience and how it affects consumers and users of modern technologies use in business
enterprises.

The researchers will know after this research if the CLiQQ machines are really helpful
and reliable, if it is convenient to the users. Also this study is about to learn the feedback of the
people who used this machine, the knowledge of those people about this machine and about those
people who have no idea what is this machine for.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The results of this study will be a great benefit to the following:

Students. This study may serve as a guide on how to pay easily and save some points to
pay other bills that will help them to save their cash.

Parents. This study will help them to understand the convenience of using CliQQ and
why they should use this to pay for something,

Working People. This study will help them on how can they use CLiQQ kiosk to lessen
the time they consume for lining up just to pay for something

Future researcher. This research will be a useful reference for the future researchers
who will conduct this type of research in the near future.

All in all, this study will help the users of CLiQQ to understand more and maximize their
knowledge regarding the different terms and problems they may encounter while they are using it
and the convenience of the utilization of CLiQQ kiosk of 7 eleven stores at Caloocan city.
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

The study will be limited only to the Utilization and Convenience of CLiQQ Machine to
the Selected Users in 7 eleven Stores at Caloocan City. This research will help the users to
simplify tasks in the process of buying load, paying bills, e-money and many more. If population
are 20 respondents from five 7 eleven stores, the researchers will conduct surveys and
questionnaires to know the insights and reviews of the selected users. Cluster Random Sampling
will be applied.

In Cluster Random Sampling, the population is first split into groups. The overall sample
is consist of every members from different groups, the researchers use this type of
sampling technique to know the insights and reviews of the users of some members from every
group. This type of sampling technique is good for this research because the researchers may able
to know the different insights of every members of the selected clusters at different 7 eleven
stores

DEFINITION OF TERMS

CLiQQ - CLiQQ Rewards is 7-Eleven’s loyalty program (formerly Every Day! Rewards).

Cluster -is a small group of people or things.

Convenience - fitness or suitability for performing an action or fulfilling a requirement.


E-commerce - E-commerce (electronic commerce) is the buying and selling of goods and
services, or the transmitting of funds or data, over an electronic network, primarily the internet.

E-money - electronic money (e-money) is a secure way to store monetary value on


hardware devices, such as computers and smartphones. E-money is used to make and accept
payments to and from persons and organizations other than the e-money issuers.

E-pins - is a security code generated by the software for handling transactions on the internet
very easily like registration and product shipping.

Innovation – The action or process of innovating. A new method, idea, product, etc.

Insight - The capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person or thing.

Kiosk – This is a stand-alone device that features a touchscreen interface and uses highly
advanced programming software. Such kiosks are often used in the retail or consumer industry,
and are placed in high traffic areas where people can get information with the touch of a finger.
Ought - used to express obligation

Population – All the inhabitants of a particular town, area, or country.

Reviews – A formal assessment or examination of something with the possibility or intention of


instituting change if necessary.

Sampling - isthe process of gettinginformation from onlypart of a


larger group.

Technique - A way of carrying out a particular task, especially the execution or performance of
an artistic work or a scientific procedure.

Utilization - the action of making practical and effective use of something.
