Team working assessment will contribute 10% to the total marks of this subject.

It
comprises the two following components:

1. Peers Evaluation (5%) – Every member of a group will assess his peers in
the same group. The form will be given in the e-learning to evaluate his peers with
a scale from 1 to 5. Everybody has to fill up this form and submit it through
the e-learning

2. Project Report (5%) – Lecturer will assess team working skills of a group
based on the project reports. Every group will be tasked with one projects either
topic 1 or topic 2 (refer to table 1). The group will have to complete these given
projects and submit a written report for each project (any member of the student
group can submit the group report) according to the following format through e-
learning;

a. Front cover (Project Title, Team Members)

b. Meeting minutes

c. Team member roles

d. Content (Objective, Methodology, Solution/Result, Analysis, and

Conclusion)

e. References

Topic 1
Figure 1 shows the block diagram of a linear time invariant system.ℎ 𝑡 is the
unit impulse response of the system, x(t) is the input signal and y(t) is the
output signal. Define associative property of a convolution process. Referring to
Figure 1, demonstrate the associative property of convolution process using
the following input signal and unit impulse response
𝑥 𝑡 =𝑢 𝑡+2 −𝑢 𝑡−3
1
ℎ1 (𝑡) = 𝑡for 0<t<4
5

ℎ2 𝑡 = 𝛿 𝑡 + 2
Show clearly the important calculation step. Use Matlab program for
comparison.

Topic 2
Figure 1 shows the block diagram of a linear time invariant system. ℎ 𝑡 is the
unit impulse response of the system, 𝑥 𝑡 is the input signal and 𝑦 𝑡 is the
output signal. Define distributive property of a convolution process. Referring
to Figure 1, demonstrate the distributive property of a convolution process
using the following input signal and unit impulse response:
𝑥 𝑡 =𝑢 𝑡+2 −𝑢 𝑡−2
1
ℎ1 (𝑡) = 𝑡for 0<t<4
4

ℎ2 𝑡 = 𝛿 𝑡 − 1
Show clearly the important calculation step. Use Matlab program for
comparison.
