Configure Xshell

1. Double-click the Xshell icon on your desktop to start Xshell.

2. Window: Sessions
3. Click the New menu icon.
4. Window: New Session Properties.
5. Connection / Name field: type omnis
6. Connection / Host field: type omnis.wlu.ca
7. User Authorization / Method field: from the drop down list select Keyboard Interactive.
8. Click OK to return to the Sessions window.

9. Window: Sessions.
10. Highlight the omnis entry.
11. Click Connect to login.

12. Window: Unknown Host Identification.

13. Click Accept & Save.

14. Window: SSH User Name.

15. Username field: type the the username for your omnis account.
16. Click OK.

17. Window: SSH User Authentication.

18. Password field: type the password for your omnis account.
19. Click OK.

20. Window: omnis – Xshell.

21. $ prompt: type exit and press the Enter key to exit.

USING Xshell

1. Double-click the Xshell icon on your desktop to start Xshell.

2. In the Sessions : Window, Choose omnis for Production.
3. Window: SSH User Name.
4. Username field: type the username for your omnis account.
5. Click OK.
6. Window: SSH User Authentication.
7. Password field: type the password for your omnis account.
8. Click OK.
9. Press Enter key to accept the default database.
10. You are now connected. To end your session type Exit and press Enter at the $ prompt.

Configure Xftp

1. Double-click the Xftp icon on your desktop to start Xftp.

2. Window: Sessions
3. Click the New menu icon.

4. Window: New Session.

5. FTP Site / Name field: type omnis
6. FTP Site / Host field: type omnis.wlu.ca.
7. FTP Site / Protocol field: change from FTP to SFTP.
8. Login / User Name field: type the username for your omnis account.
9. Login / Password field: type the password for your omnis account.
10. Click OK to return to the Sessions window.

11. Window: Sessions.

12. Click Close to exit.

13. Window: Xftp 1.2

14. Click the File menu icon to access the drop down list.
15. Click Exit on the drop down list to exit.

Using Xftp
1. Double-click the Xftp icon on your desktop to start Xftp.
2. In the Sessions : Window, Choose omnis for Production.
3. Window: SSH User Name.
4. Username field: type the username for your omnis account.
5. Click OK.
6. Window: SSH User Authentication.
7. Password field: type the password for your omnis account.
8. Click OK.
9. You are now connected.
10. To upload files to the Server, select the file in the browse window (left block) and choose
the upload icon ( # ) from the toolbar.
11. To download files to your PC, select the file in the browse windows (right block) and
choose the download icon ( $ ) from the toolbar.
12. Click the File menu icon to access the drop down list.
13. Click Exit on the drop down list to exit.
