Some people consider that the cause of security problems and robberies in cities is related
to the lack of opportunities and economic difficulties suffered by people. Colombia is one
of the most unequal countries in Latin America, due to the fact that from the beginning of
its history there were more and more separations between social classes stemming from a
process of colonization and miscegenation that is still evident with popular towns and
neighborhoods. , which laid the foundations of an unequal country, this situation has
reached the point of currently having a peak of violence and crime generated by people
who make the decision to solve their economic problems by harming others.
The rulers of this country have taken this situation as an opportunity to legitimize their
governments, through a series of proposals to solve the problem of social inequality in
each presidential election, but as the years go by we continue to observe that these
proposals are not fulfilled. they feel let down by the presidents-elect and there are no
options to solve these problems.
The government strategies that include the police have a high deficit of people who can
attend to the security needs in the cities and even more so when the protests of the
people towards the economic aid of the government, reflect a notorious scarcity of
resources for them and their families.
The social reaction to the lack of economic opportunities is to react violently and try to
obtain economic resources to survive through assaults on people and houses without
taking into account the economic situation that may originate in others.
