Construction:
To attach the flap, lay in on the shoe so it sits on top of the edge of the toe. Using a yarn needle and
your long tail, attach it by sewing in and out of the slip stitches around the edge, and catching the
corresponding piece of yarn on the toe flap.
To attach the strap, an easy method is to take the four tails at the end of the strap and using your
hook, fish them through the bottom side of the shoe. Attach them at the 2 nd row of your second color.
Make sure your tails are fished through along the same row, so it sits even. Then, reach inside the
shoe and tie the tails together with a knot.

sts. Sc in next 7 sts. (30 sts)

3. *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* work 3 times. Sc in next 7 sts. *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* work 5
times. Sc in next 7 sts. (38 sts)

4. Sc in each st all around (38 sts). Move up your marker. Join with sl st and finish off.

5. Start with your 2nd color at your marker at the last sc. You will now be working in joined rows. Ch
1.

{This is the start of your toe straps. To work them, you will go back and forth, turning twice to achieve
the width of the strap}

Ch 4. Sc into 1st ch. Sl st into next st on top of shoe. Turn so you are working from the back of the
small strap you just made, from the inside of the shoe.

Ch 1. Sc in next st. Sc 3 in the 3-ch-loop at top of strap. Work a sc – this won’t be worked in a real
stitch; work it in the side to your strap is even. Sk 1 st and sl st into the next st on shoe. Turn.

Starting in the next st, sl all around strap (6 sl st total). (the 6th sl st will be worked in the side of the
stitch) Sl st onto the next worked st on the top of your shoe. Sc 10 around the toe.

{Starting the next strap}

Ch 4. Sc into 1st ch. Sl st into next st on top of shoe. Turn so you are working fr om the back of the
small strap you just made, from the inside of the shoe.

Ch 1, sc 1 in next st.Sc 3 in the 3-ch-loop at top of strap. Sc (This won’t be worked in a real stitch;
work it in the side to your strap is even.) Sl st into the next st on shoe.

Turn. Starting in the next st, sl all around strap (6 sl st total).Sl st onto the next st on the top of your
shoe. Sc 2. Join with sl st. Tie off.
Tongue:

Ch 5.
