Falden 22

Technical Data Sheet Foam Control

Falden 22 is a general-purpose defoamer and antifoam for aqueous paints and coatings
based on proprietary, silicone-free chemistry. It provides effective foam control in flat and
satin latex paints. Falden 22 is also used for emulsion polymerization and latex
manufacture, as well as in water-based inks.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR

• Semi-gloss & high gloss latex systems and for coatings with PVC less than 35%
• Industrial waterborne coatings: urethanes, epoxies etc.

USAGE GUIDE
Use product as supplied. Recommended
dosage is 0.1% to 0.5% on total formula
weight. Setting or separation may occur
during storage. This is a normal occurrence
and does not change the characteristics of the
product. Falden 22 is easily homogenized by
mixing or agitating. It is recommended to do
this prior to use.

PACKAGING Figure 1 shows a mixture of typical paint
• 182 kg (net) drums ingredients with Falden 22 added to
eliminate the foam.
