Acknowledgement
The successful completion of this study would not have been possible without the
assistance and cooperation of a number of people consequently, I would like to
thank my sister-in-law for her massive support and time spent on researching about
the Guyanese author’s and their backgrounds.
Members of my family have been a constant source of encouragement
and assistance. I would also like thank my parent for relieving me from household
duties while I was engaged in this study. Finally, special thanks dedicated to my
teacher who guide me every step of way through this project in making it
successful.

Introduction
This project is basically focusing on Guyanese Literature. In this project the
researcher outlined two Guyanese authors, two book that each author wrote, a
biography martin carter a character sketch of the protagonist found in the novel
“black Midas” by Jan Carew, two themes found in the novel, and a six lines poem
based on the novel.

Implementation
Step-1 The Researcher received the project on the 19th February 2018.
Step-2 The Researcher discussed the project with his English language
Teacher and parents.
Step-3 After careful consideration the researcher choose the simplest project [2]
based on the Guyanese Literature.
Step-4 The Researcher bought the necessary stationary to start the project.
Step-5 The Researcher read the novel “black Midas” by Jan Carew to obtain
Information.
Step-6 The Researcher complied information into a scrap book and took it to the
Subject teacher for help and to check.
Step-7 The Researcher made necessary correction highlighted by the subject
teacher.
Step-8 The Researcher placed the information into a folder and submitted it on the
Due date 3oth April 2018.

Planning
Step-1 the researcher will collect the project on the 19th February 2018.
Step-2 the researcher will discuss the project with his Teacher and parent.
Step-3 the researcher will choose the simplest project [project 2].
Step-4 the researcher will buy the necessary stationary Needed to start the
project.
Step-5 the researcher will read the novel “black Midas” To obtain information.
Step-6 the researcher will compile information into a Scrapbook and take it to the
subject teacher for Help and to check his work.
Step-7 the researcher will make necessary correction Highlighted by the subject
teacher.
Step-8 the researcher will place information into a folder and submitted on the
due date.

Biography
Martin Carter was a Guyanese poet and political activist, widely regarded as the
greatest Guyanese poet and most important poet od the Caribbean. He was born on
June 7, 1972 in Georgetown. Martin Carter parents were African, Indian and
European ancestry and held secure positions in Guyana middle class family.
Martin Carter attended prestigious Queens collage in 1939-1945. In that year he
got a job in the civil service, first in the post office, then as a secretary to the
superintendent of prison. By 1945 it seem likely that he had come in contact which
the Marxist idea of political affair committee [ the Jagans Cheddi and Janet’s].
Friendship with the Jagans began with access to their extensive radical Libarary.

Conclusion
It can be concluded that the researcher completes this project. The researcher learnt
a lot of interesting factors related to the Guyanese Literature and their
backgrounds.
